At Sen, our coffee academy is designed around goals & aspirations, not just certificates. Whether you aim to be a barista or simply want to learn about coffee as a beginner, we have discounted bundles for you!

Who Can Take These Classes?

Everyone! There are no prerequisites! Our classes are available for:

  • Experienced Potters

Whether you are new to the art of ceramics or an experienced potter looking to further your skills, we would love to have you join us in our community space and hope to share our passion for pottery with you.

Our instructors are skilled baristas and coffee professionals with practical experience and a comprehensive understanding of current industry trends. They are currently working at our cafes with Prodigal Roasters.

Frequently Asked Questions: Coffee Academy

It seems like there are a lot of modules – where do I start? Which courses are suitable for beginners? 

For those who are new to specialty coffee, we recommend starting with our Specialty Coffee Theory course. During this 1.5-hour session, participants will acquire a fundamental grasp of speciality coffee and distinguish between the various types available.

If you already have a basic understanding of specialty coffee, we recommend attending our Coffee Extraction Fundamentals course. A 2-hour class to understand how coffee extraction functions and the components of a quality cup of coffee.

What coffee classes do you recommend for home espresso machine owners?

If you are a complete beginner, we would recommend first joining our Intro To Coffee weekend class.

If you are looking for something more complete, then our barista course offers a comprehensive curriculum that extends beyond basic coffee preparation.

We guide you through mastering every step from bean to cup, providing hands-on experience with professional café-grade espresso machines. You can expect this course to offer highly practical instruction on extractions, milk texturing, and essential knowledge from sourcing to brewing, making it ideal for all skill levels.

Can I reschedule my classes? Is there a time limit to completing the modules?

Yes, you can reschedule up to 48 hours before your next class. Please note that we require all participants to complete all individual modules within 30 days from the original date of booking to ensure that each student is able to retain their learning effectively and to keep our standards high.

What do I need to prepare leading up to my course? Are there any prerequisites for taking your courses? 

All courses include complimentary coffee materials. Your only task is to arrive eager and prepared to absorb knowledge.

To participate in our intermediate/advanced 201 level courses, completion of all 101 basic modules is a prerequisite:

Students with prior experience will be considered separately.

What are your payment modes?

We accept Cash and PayNow or bank transfer in store.

For online orders, Credit/Debit Card is preferred.

When are you open?
