Frequently Asked Questions: Pottery Team Building
Can I bring home the pottery I made during class?
Yes, you can! Please note that your pieces need to be completely dry and fired, so a waiting time of 2-4 weeks is required before collection.
What is the largest group size you can accommodate for your pottery team building workshops?
Currently, we can comfortably accommodate groups of up to 10 for hand-building classes and up to 4 for wheel-throwing sessions. However, if you require a larger group size, simply let us know and we may be able to design something for you!
Reach out to us for a discussion on your desired date and group size so we can help create a fun pottery experience for your group.
What should I wear for my pottery team building workshop?
Wear casual and comfortable clothing that you wouldn’t mind getting wet and dirty with clay! We would also recommend removing any dangling jewelry on your person before conducting any pottery activity, as well as wear closed toe shoes in our studio for safety reasons.
Do I need to bring any pottery equipment or materials?
Everything you could possibly need is already provided to you in our studio. So there’s no need to bring any pottery tools or material, simply your eager self!
What is the difference between hand building and wheel throwing?
Wheel throwing is the use of a potter’s wheel in creating ceramics, shaping clay to become a vessel or other inspired pieces. This allows you to create pieces that are more symmetrical and polished, but it is in a sense considered a more difficult craft with a steep learning curve.
Hand building, on the other hand, is the creation of ceramics with clay formed by your hands. Although the final pieces can look a bit rough, especially if it's your first time, their principles are easy to learn and you can craft a half-decent piece on the first try.
Handbuilding is also good for people who want to try out ceramics for the first time, as it gives you a lot of fundamental hands-on experience working with clay. Check out our Handbuilding classes!
Do you also have standard pottery classes?
Yes! We also offer standard pottery courses for participants looking to dive into the world of pottery and ceramics!
You can find all our classes on our Ceramics Studio page, where we have trial workshops, extended classes and open studio practice sessions for beginners and experienced potters.
Do you offer classes for kids?
Currently, our group sessions are only available for participants aged 18 and above.
Only our Hand Building Touchy Feely class is suitable for children ages 7 and above.
